With an extensive selection of majors and minors and close proximity to New York City, we prepare our students to engage in productive careers and to live meaningful lives. Students are actively involved in scientific research and sustainability projects. Students create artwork, perform in theater, study abroad, and participate in archaeological digs. They write honors theses and work for political candidates. They publish their research, work with community and school organizations, create movies, and run the University radio station. Through small classes and individual attention, students are engaged with their faculty, their peers, and their community. Our extraordinarily diverse student body embraces difference and celebrates each individual. In the Jesuit tradition, we stress intellectual rigor, personal reflection, and a commitment to community. Our evolving urban environment of Jersey City provides exceptional opportunities for investigating urban planning, resource development, community activism, economic development, and cultural enrichment.
