I believe students learn best in a comfortable, supportive atmosphere where they can feel free to ask questions and share their ideas. I value getting to know my students and learning about their experiences because students’ life experiences and perspectives enrich the classroom. I believe that people learn in a variety of ways and I encourage an active classroom with students sharing ideas, working through problems, and discussing different ways of viewing problems. I strive to create many opportunities for active problem solving, questioning, and explaining solutions so that students experience success in the classroom and gain confidence in their analytic abilities.
