Master of Science in Health Science

Curriculum

The Master of Health Sciences degree is a 36 credit hour program designed to prepare students for a wide range of careers in the healthcare industry. Our students will develop and refine problem-solving and decision-making skills needed to respond to critical needs in various healthcare settings, and improve quality care and educational outcomes.

The rigor of the program, with its grounding in the health sciences, will demand academic excellence of the students. Instilling the ideals of ethical and compassionate care in our students directly aligns with our mission of serving compassionately and promoting justice in healthcare. Through courses in ethics and leadership, the program will strengthen the students’ leadership skills so they are able to ethically and effectively manage a team of health professionals.

Program Availability

The program will be offered online and is designed for both full-time and part-time study designed for maximum flexibility, allowing students to work around their own needs and schedules.

Degree Requirements

The program includes 6 courses (18 credits) of core course work to address the desired outcomes of the program. In addition to the core courses, students will choose two (2) additional elective courses (6 credits) and three (3) courses within a specialty track (9 credits): Health Leadership or Health Education. Students interested in both the Health Education track and the Leadership track can complete a “General Studies” in Health Science by taking a combined 9 credits of coursework from both tracks.
