Through these efforts, students take meaningful action to enhance their career readiness competencies and long-term professional success.

In Fall 2024, 13 sophomore TRIO SSS students took a significant step in their career journeys by enrolling in ED-103: Career Development, a one-credit course designed to equip them with essential career skills. As part of the course, students successfully completed the Career Launch curriculum, earning a prestigious certificate that recognizes their commitment to professional growth.

The Career Launch curriculum is a comprehensive, eight-step program that actively engages students in skill-building and career exploration. Throughout the process, students develop:

  • Social Capital with Employers – Expanding professional networks and mentorship opportunities.
  • Career Readiness Competencies – Mastering skills essential for workplace success.
  • Career Mobility Best Practices – Understanding strategies for career advancement.
  • Life Design Mindsets – Adopting a proactive approach to career planning and decision-making.

Through innovative programming like ED-103 and the Career Launch certification, TRIO SSS continues to empower students with the tools they need to navigate their careers confidently and successfully.
