Students Kick-Off Google IgniteCS Education Program at Ezra L. Nolan Middle School #40
On Wednesday, thirteen computer science students met with Francine Luce, principal of Ezra L. Nolan Middle School #40, in Jersey City, to kick-off the Google igniteCS education program. The igniteCS program is an initiative led by Google to support student groups that are committed to developing and delivering a computer science outreach program in their community (K-12). This program was made possible by an award given by Google, Inc., to the department of computer and information sciences.Students will get paid to work as teacher aids, mentors and instructors in the middle school after hours program for nine weeks in the fall and spring semesters. Computer science topics include robotics, drones, programming and cyber security.
