Education Professor Presents at Conference in New Orleans
On March 6 – 8 James Clayton, Ed.D., associate professor in the Caulfield School of Education, traveled to New Orleans to participate in the “Critical Questions in Education” conference organized by the Academy for Educational Studies. Dr. Clayton presented “Racial Profiling, Poverty, and Pollution: Actual Contexts to Teach Elementary Math? Yes!” with Joan Kwako, Ph.D., of the University of Minnesota, Duluth. The professors shared instructional strategies for including social justice issues in mathematics lessons for preservice elementary teachers.
