Sports Management Students Partner with the Newark Recreation Department

Sports management students (pictured above) partnered with the Newark Recreation Department through their internship work to run after school sport and fitness programming, including a soccer clinic, for the youth of Newark. After meeting with Dr. Stephanie Bryan who is overseeing the internship students, Obalaji Baraka, the director of Newark Recreation, expressed his great hopes for the Saint Peter’s students to set an example for the youth of Newark demonstrating that college is an option and by no means out of reach. Mr. Baraka is very interested in extending his partnership with Saint Peter’s through the hiring of students to work in his summer recreation programs.
