Campus Kitchen, Pantry and Clothes Closet
The Campus Kitchen, Food Pantry, and Clothes Closet at Saint Peter’s University provide quality, cooked meals, non-perishable food, clothes, toiletries, and household items to those in need in our local community.
The “Kitchen”
Established on September 11, 2014, Saint Peter’s University became the 39th Campus Kitchen in the US. There are currently 65 CKs. Housed in the former Saint Aedan’s convent, we work to take the estimated 40% of unused food in the United States that would be discarded and provide it to people who are food insecure. We follow the HACCP food handling guidelines and are certified with the Jersey City Board of Health.
To date we have recovered over 128,000 lbs of food and served over 105,000 meals to those in need in Hudson County.
The “Food Pantry and Clothes Closet”
Following the Corporal Works of Mercy, the Saint Peter’s University Food Pantry and Clothes Closet seek to provide quality clothes, non-perishable food, toiletries and household items to those most in need in our community.
Housed in the basement of 39 Tuers Ave (formerly the Saint Aedan’s Convent) our Pantry/Closet is open to everyone in the community. We do not require referrals.
To date we have distributed over 25,000 lbs of Clothes, and toiletries and over 20,000 lbs of non-perishable food.
