Gateway Program Details
Here’s how it works:
- Gateway Tuition Program covers tuition, comprehensive and orientation fees.
- Must be a legal New Jersey resident* and a full-time, first-time freshmen enrolling for the fall semester.
- Be Federal Pell-eligible as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and eligibility confirmed through completion of the financial aid process; students with a FAFSA verified EFC of $5,846 or less.
- New first-year students must submit all required financial aid documents by the stated application deadlines and respond to federal and state verification inquiries (if selected).
- Students will be notified of eligibility after admission and upon the completion of the financial aid process. Students may receive a financial aid package and learn of the Gateway Tuition Program eligibility after all required documents are received. Students who do not meet full eligibility will have a financial aid award created for them that matches their FAFSA profile.
- Students may retain eligibility for the Gateway Tuition Program but are subject to changes as determined by the annual filing of the FAFSA. Students will be advised each year based on EFC calculations, income earnings or changes to University policy.
- Must remain enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate day student and make satisfactory academic progress. All financial awards are subject to University and Office of Financial Assistance policies.
- Commuter students benefit the most from this program because their cost to attend is primarily tuition, comprehensive and orientation fees.
- Eligible students electing to live on campus can benefit from this program since it covers a majority of their costs other than housing and meal plans.
* Legal New Jersey resident, residing in-state for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment.
