Living Arrangements

Your living arrangements are an important part of your immersion experience at Saint Peter’s University. As a visiting exchange student, you will be required to live on campus and will enjoy many benefits by joining our community of resident students. You will have a roomate and live with current Saint Peter’s students.* You will also enjoy close proximity to your classes, easy access to New York City, and support from Resident Assistants (RA’s) trained to address individual student needs and concerns and develop social programming for on-campus residents.

Personalizing your space

Personalizing your living space is part of the fun of living in the residence halls. For this reason, the University provides comfortable but plain housing accomodations.** Students are encouraged to decorate their assigned living area in a manner that reflects their personality and range of interests without causing damage to existing furniture and walls or overwhelming roommates living in the same space. Every student is provided with a bed, chair, desk and dresser.

Policies and Regulations

The University expects students to maintain their living area clean and tidy and help maintain common areas within shared apartments, including bathrooms and kitchens. This expectation extends to visiting exchange students.

All exchange students living in the residence halls are expected to abide by the same policies and regulations as current resident students. Click here to review the policies and regulations.

*If you are visiting Saint Peter’s with a friend and would like to be assigned to the same room, you may indicate this on your housing application. We will do all we can to honor your request but cannot guarantee that you will be housed together. On-campus housing is very limited and more than one open space may not be available within the same room. The University is relatively small however, which means that you will never be more than five minutes away from your friend as long as you are both living on campus.
**Exchange students will be assigned to one of the following residence halls: Veteran’s Memorial Court, Murray Hall, Durant Hall or 140 Glenwood Avenue Apartments. For residence hall descriptions, click here

***We realize that you are traveling a greater distance than most students and may not be able to bring some or all of the suggested items on your journey to the USA. This is not a problem. During the Orientation portion of your program, we will provide a neighborhood tour (weather-permitting) and offer suggestions on where to purchase items to help personalize your living space.
