Saint Peter’s Hosts Affordable Care Act Enrollment Session

The Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership partnered with the City of Jersey City to host an Affordable Care Enrollment Session on Thursday, January 29. The event was designed to promote access to affordable healthcare coverage in the Jersey City community during the final Affordable Care Act enrollment push for 2015. Dr. Cornacchia welcomed Jackie Cornell-Bechelli, regional director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, who was joined by Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop H’14 and Katherine Archuleta, director of the Office of Personnel Management.

Archuleta, a long-time public servant, was appointed by President Obama to lead the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in 2013. The agency is responsible for attracting and retaining an innovative, diverse and talented workforce to make the federal government a model employer for the 21st century. Following the Affordable Care Act session, Archuleta spoke to Dr. Mirescu’s political science class.
