April 18, 2002– Saint Peter’s College Senior’s Original Music to be Performed by St. Dominick Glee Club
Jersey City, NJ – Saint Peter’s College senior Vincent Rone (Bayonne, NJ) will have his first original choral composition performed by Jersey City’s St. Dominick Academy Glee Club on Sunday, April 28 at 4 p.m. at St. Aloysius Church on West Side Avenue. Rone, a double major in theology and fine arts with a music minor, designed his music to accompany traditional parts of a Catholic mass. “I wrote the piece specifically for Joseph Napoli, who is the Director of the Glee Club, but I hope that classical music lovers will appreciate it too,” Rone said. “I looked at the words in the translations that the music will accompany and had to first learn what they meant before writing the music. I wanted to evoke a feeling of reflection so I wrote it to be a bit darker than some contemporary Church music.”
