Jersey City, NJ — Ana Maria Belaval, a correspondent for Univision’s popular morning show, Despierta America, will speak at Saint Peter’s College on Monday, March 29 at Noon in the Pope Lecture Hall on the College’s Jersey City campus. Belaval will discuss her role on the Spanish language channel and detail her career as a popular Latina broadcaster. Belaval got an early start in journalism, working for Channel 4 News in her native Puerto Rico at 16. She attended American University in Washington and earned a position at Univision in Washington. She then worked for Univision as a Chicago-based correspondent and covered major news events in Puerto Rico, Mexico and the United States. She is now based in New York and appears regularly on Despierta America. Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.
