Saint Peter’s College introduced OneCard – a new identification and debit card system – to the campus community this fall. The new card serves not only as the official College ID but provides holders access to the O’Toole library, athletics events, campus computing labs and anywhere else on the Jersey City campus where a photo ID is required. The OneCard is also a quick and convenient way for students to use their meal plans, and to buy books, school supplies, mascot items and make other purchases at the College Store, without the need to carry cash.Munch Money (for meals) or Flex Dollars can be credited to a card. The amount of Munch Money available to a student is based on the meal plan purchased. Flex Dollars can be added to a OneCard account in multiples of $100 and can be used for all other services, including purchases in the Hudson Room and McIntyre Lounge.“We are working on having many more features added to the OneCard system,” says Jonathan Weiss, Saint Peter’s College OneCard Manager. “The card will soon provide students with access to residence halls, apartments and parking lots; they’ll be able to use it for concessions at athletic events, vending machine purchases, residence washers and dryers and much more. We’re even working on contracts with local retailers and restaurants to accept the OneCard as a debit card,” said Jonathan.Students and staff can obtain their OneCards at the OneCard office located in 213 McDermott Hall. Students must bring a valid driver’s license or a passport; staff members must bring their old College ID.
