Biology Department’s Distinguished Lecture Series Features Two Events in November

Jersey City, NJ (November 17, 2004) –The Saint Peter’s College Biology Department is sponsoring two lectures this fall semester as part of its ongoing Distinguished Lecture Series.“We are pleased to have two leading scholars and practitioners examine the importance of a liberal arts education and background in scientific research and how the human brain and immune system function together,” said Dr. Len Sciorra, The Reverend Joseph E. Schuh Professor of the Health and Natural Sciences at Saint Peter’s College.Martin Schreibman, Ph.D. and Director of the Aquatic Research and Environmental Assessment Center at Brooklyn College, will deliver the first lecture on Monday, November 22 from noon-1 p.m. at Gannon Lecture Hall. Dr. Schreibman’s topic is “The Role of a Scientific Research Center in a Liberal Arts College.”David L. Felten, M.D, Ph.D and Dean for the School of Graduate Medical Education at Seton Hall University, concludes the fall lecture series on Monday, November 29th from noon-1 p.m. in Gannon Lecture Hall. Dr. Felton’s address is entitled “How the Brain and Immune System Communicate with One Another.”Both lectures are open to the general public.
