Saint Peter’s College was proud to launch Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter’s College for the Chicago/Midwest region of the country with a special campaign reception on Saturday, October 8 at Keefer’s Restaurant in Chicago’s River North hosted by Caroline and Marshall Rozzi ’67. An intimate group of alumni, ranging from the class of 1961 to the class of 1987, gathered with College President Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D. to hear the latest news about Saint Peter’s College.
Attendees of the event were given an insider’s glimpse of Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter’s College, the largest and most ambitious capital campaign in College history. Dr. Cornacchia has set a goal of $750,000 to be raised by this region before Students at the Center closes in 2014. To date, the region had raised $609,309 toward the various campaign priorities.
“It is amazing to see how far Saint Peter’s has come since my student days when it was essentially an undergraduate commuter college for men,” said Marshall Rozzi. “Today’s Saint Peter’s is a diverse coed undergraduate and graduate residential/commuter college, which continues to grow not only in the physical size of the campus, but in its academic program offerings. The College has been a major influence in my life and I am certain it will be as important for many of its future graduates.”
The construction of the College’s first ever student center stands at the heart of this comprehensive Campaign. The additional priorities include the growth of the College’s endowment and The Saint Peter Fund as well as Saint Peter’s Jesuit Mission & Identity, academics and athletics.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to hold these Regional Campaign launches across the country,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s College. “These events allow alumni who are not close by to celebrate the milestones that are taking place everyday at Saint Peter’s College.”
A regional event also took place this past January for the Florida region and alumni and friends of the College can look forward to more to come. To learn more about the Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter’s College, please visit our Campaign website.
