Saint Peter’s & Jersey City Department of Recreation Partner with ProsToYou Tennis

Jersey City, N.J. – March 16, 2015 –  Saint Peter’s University today announced an exclusive partnership with Jersey City’s Department of Recreation and ProsToYou Tennis, an acclaimed leader in tennis instruction dedicated to developing community-based tennis programs. As a part of the agreement, ProsToYou Tennis will operate all junior and adult tennis instruction at Saint Peter’s University tennis courts in The Victor R. Yanitelli, S.J. Recreational Life Center as well as run programs at Jersey City public parks and schools. Seasonal programs will be offered at local parks and in schools while the year-round junior and adult programs will be offered at Saint Peter’s University, available to all residents of surrounding communities.

ProsToYou Tennis will launch the partnership with a free “Kick-Off” tennis mixer at Saint Peter’s University on Saturday, March 28 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The “Kick-Off” tennis mixer will consist of fun games, prizes, food and will be open to all ages and skill levels.

“ProsToYou Tennis, Saint Peter’s University and Jersey City share the similar objective to promote healthy lifestyles. ProsToYou will support this through the fun, lifelong sport of tennis,” said Marco Impeduglia, chief executive officer of ProsToYou Tennis. “This is a great partnership that will give us the opportunity to grow the game of tennis in the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area as we provide professional-level instruction to both junior and adult players across the region.”

The ProsToYou Spring Session I programs (6-week session) will run from Sunday, March 29 through Saturday, May 9 followed by Spring Session II programs (6- week session) from Sunday, May 10 through Sunday, June 21. In addition, ProsToYou will offer its signature PlayTennis! Program, which is comprised of three free group lessons for all Jersey City residents, both adults and juniors. The Jersey City Recreation Department provides programming for Jersey City children, adults and seniors at sites throughout the City. Under the Fulop Administration, the Department has added 22 new programs, including scuba, boxing, cricket, fitness programs, and programs for special needs athletes. The Department has increased offerings through afterschool programs, partnerships with professional sports organizations and local non-profits, as well as establishing several competitive games, tournaments and travel teams.
