Muhammad Mir ’15, Chief Commercial Officer at Azend Pharma, to Serve as Keynote Speaker for Saint Peter’s Michaelmas Convocation

Jersey City, N.J. – September 24, 2024 – Saint Peter’s University today announced that Muhammad Mir ’15, chief commercial officer at Azend Pharma, will provide the keynote address for the 2024 Saint Peter’s Michaelmas Convocation on Wednesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. in the University’s Mac Mahon Student Center. Mir will also receive an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, honoris causa.

As an accomplished alumnus and leader in the pharmaceutical industry, Muhammad exemplifies the transformative power of a Saint Peter’s education,” said Hubert Benitez, D.D.S., Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s University. “His success is a testament to what our students can achieve, and I am confident his message will inspire them to pursue their own bold ambitions.”

Mir is the co-founder and chief commercial officer at Azend Pharma, a healthcare management service company dedicated to empowering independent pharmacies. AzendPharma helps streamline their operations, implement innovative solutions, and drive growth in a challenging market while improving healthcare delivery and outcomes. Mir brings extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, recognized for his strategic leadership and ability to drive commercial success.

Before joining Azend Pharma, Mir oversaw various specialty pharmacy initiatives in the tri-state area, where he played a crucial role in expanding market presence and improving patient outcomes through innovative digital solutions and the use of pharmacy analytics. Earlier in his career, Mir held a successful tenure at Pfizer, where he managed key accounts and promoted major pharmaceutical brands in the New York market. Mir graduated from Saint Peter’s in 2015 with a degree in biological chemistry and biotechnology.

Michaelmas is an annual ceremony that recognizes Saint Peter’s students for outstanding academic achievement in all areas, including the sciences, humanities, education, nursing and business. Additionally, 10 seniors are inducted into the oldest and most distinguished honors society at Saint Peter’s, the Most Noble Order of the Peacock (MNOP), for attaining the highest scholastic average in all courses throughout their first three years at the University. This year’s inductees include Chaimaa Aknouche, Ada Andrade, Emily Avila, Isabelle Bautista, Carolina Da Fonseca Guedes, Shereen Hanna, Aakash Pandey, Tabata Patino, Katherine Peña Sanchez and Kasidy Slusser.
