SAINT PETER’S COLLEGE NAMES JOHN OESTER NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE AND BUSINESS Oester Continues Distinguished Career at Jesuit Institutions Jersey City, NJ –John Oester has been named the Vice President of Finance and Business at Saint Peter’s College. He will report to College Provost Dr. Eugene Cornacchia and sit on President James N. Loughran’s, S.J., cabinet. Oester will supervise more than 55 full-time employees in eight different departments including finance, information and technology services and human resources. Oester comes to Saint Peter’s after spending 13 years as the Vice President for Business and Finance and Treasurer at Loyola Marymount University. Prior to moving toLos Angeles, he served as a faculty member and Vice President for Financial Affairs at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL from 1968-through-1989. Like Saint Peter’s, Loyola Marymount and Spring Hill are Jesuit institutions. Oester earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Spring Hill before earning an MBA from the Harvard University Business School. “John has extensive experience as a senior level higher education business and finance executive,” Dr. Cornacchia said. “He has demonstrated success in capital planning, creative cost reduction and reallocation, and database systems development.” Oester’s career accomplishments include saving over $20 million in interest expense through the execution of seven tax-exempt bond offerings totaling $259 million.
