Dr. Victoria Sullivan Will Have Her Poetry Presented in Portland, Oregon
August 13, 2002–Jersey City, NJ – Dr. Victoria Sullivan, a professor of English at SaintPeter‚s College, will present her poetry at Artichoke Music’s Backstage Theatre in Portland, Oregon from August 22-24.
Billed as “Victoria & Jazzy Songs of Love,” the presentation will include Dr. Sullivan’s poetry performed by three actresses. Sullivan’s work deals with the events in a woman‚s middle years: the loss of a husband, a new love that grows into an intense and erotic romance, betrayal and finally resolution – all reflections of the cycles many women go through throughout their lives.
Dr. Sullivan has taught at Saint Peter‚s College since 1976 after serving previously on the faculty at the City College of New York and Columbia University. Sullivan’s poetry chapbook, Alzheimer Dreams, was just published by Red Parrot Press in June 2002. Sarasota Poetry Theatre Press will publish her Edda Poetry contest award-winning chapbook, Eating Figs at Twilight, in the Fall of 2002.
