SPC Womens Studies Program to Celebrate Women’s History Month

Jersey City – The Saint Peter’s College Women’s Studies Program will host several events in honor of Women’s History Month. The events are free and open to the general public.  They include:  
  • Thursday, March 15 – A celebration of the full-time enrollment of women at Saint Peter’s College.  Dr. Eileen Poiani, Vice President for Student Affairs, will speak at Mass on March 15 at noon in Saint Peter Chapel. 
Maria Pepe ‘82 discussed Breaking the Gender Barrier in Little League Baseball on March 19.
  • Monday, March 19 – Friday, March 23 will celebrate women in Sports/Workforce.  Maria Pepe ‘82 will discuss Breaking the Gender Barrier in Little League Baseball on March 19 at 10 a.m. in Pope Lecture Hall.
  • Several events will be held for the week of Monday, March 26 – March 30.  Stephanie Urdang will discuss After the Genocide: Women Coping with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda on March 29 at noon in Pope Lecture Hall.    
Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey.  Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.  The main campus is located in Jersey City.  The College has a branch campus for adults in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and also offers courses at various corporate sites at the Jersey City waterfront and in South Amboy, NJ.
