Saint Peter’s College Students Earn Nearly $563,000 in Spring Internships

Jersey City–Saint Peter’s College students who participated in the Cooperative Education program in the spring 2007 semester earned nearly $563,000 in wages collectively during the term. One-hundred and fifty-four students representing a variety of majors worked at private, public and not-for-profit organizations in the New York City metropolitan area.

Students worked at employers such as Fidelity Investments, John Wiley & Sons, ABN Amro Bank, Business Council for International Understanding, 1050 AM ESPN Radio, CSTV Networks, Inc., New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, Mellon Investor Services, 77 WABC News Radio, The Jersey Journal, Bank of New York, Merrill Lynch & Co., Citigroup, CNN, New York Mercantile Exchange, MSNBC, Lehman Brothers, UBS Financial Services, JP Morgan Chase and the Jersey City Housing Authority, among others. Some students also receive academic credit for their internships.

“We continue to see significant interest from both our students and employers in our cooperative education program,” said Dr. Peter Gotlieb, associate dean for experiential learning and career services. “It is an excellent opportunity for students to acquire valuable, hands-on experience while still in college and for employers to expand their pool of skilled employees to recruit for possible full-time positions down the road.”
