Saint Peter’s College Gears Up For Executives-in-Residence

Jersey City – Saint Peter’s College is gearing up for its Executives-in-Residence program that will run from Monday, September 29 to Friday, October 3, 2008, on the College’s Jersey City campus. Senior business executives will discuss emerging-risk strategies, and then network with Master of Business Administration (MBA) candidates, as well as with members of the College community and invited guests.

Each executive will address risk topics that affect the global business marketplace, including important risks facing modern organizations; governance and regulatory risks; global warming and environmental issues; internal exposures posed by culture, leadership gaps and management practices; and external risks on the horizon.

Fall 2008 Executives-in-Residence speakers include:

John P. Lau ’65, Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning in the Health Operations Segment for the publicly traded firm MAXIMUS. In 1989, Lau joined the firm as president of the Advanced Systems Division. He began his career as a nuclear physicist, conducting research in the Physics of the Magnetosphere for the manned-space program at NASA.

James P. McAndrew ’70, entrepreneur in the outdoor advertising business. As founder, owner and operator, McAndrew began his outdoor advertising company using 35 credit cards as his capital. Throughout his career, he has represented various advertising companies including O’Mealia Outdoor Advertising, 3M National, Patrick Outdoor Advertising, and Rollins Outdoor Advertising.

Ralph Russo ’70, accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years experience in operations management, sales, marketing, product development, and information systems technology. Russo has served as the President of Enterprise Channel Division, Nortel Networks; President of Automotive Safety Products SBU Allied Signal Inc.; and Vice President of World-Wide Operations, Apple Computer Inc.  Russo also serves on Saint Peter’s Board of Trustees.

Vincent C. Tizzio, President of Zurich Integrated Products, an insurance-based financial services provider with a global network of subsidiaries and offices in North America and Europe, as well as in Asia Pacific, Latin America and other markets. Tizzio previously served as President of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) Small Business. He has extensive experience in the commercial lines industry and a proven track record in building and growing businesses. Additionally, Tizzio serves as a member of Saint Peter’s Board of Trustees.

Daniel E. Toomey ’64, trial lawyer with a focus on construction and government contract litigation. Toomey has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals and sureties for more than 25 years in state and federal courts nationwide. He is an arbitrator and a trained mediator with more than 19 years experience in alternative dispute resolution, as both mediator and counselor.

Offered twice a year, the Executives-in-Residence program was developed by Dr. John J. Hampton, Saint Peter’s KPMG Professor of Business and Director of Graduate Business Programs. He was the executive director of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) from 2000 to 2004, and has been a principle in the Princeton Consulting Group since 1981.  Hampton has worked on projects related to strategic planning, risk management and due diligence for diverse clients, such as AT&T, The World Bank, Pacific Fruit, and United Technologies.
