Saint Peter’s College Welcomes Terence Peavy

Jersey City, NJ – Effective June 15, 2009, Terence Peavy will join the administration team at Saint Peter’s College, serving in the newly created position of vice president for enrollment management and marketing.

Peavy, a resident of Jersey City, comes to Saint Peter’s from The New School in New York City where he served as the assistant vice president for admission since 2004.   At The New School, Peavy supervised 43 admission professionals, and managed an enrollment of approximately 3500 new undergraduate and graduate students annually to the University’s eight schools. Under his purview, The New School saw a growth of 51 percent in undergraduate applications and 29 percent in enrolled students.  Graduate applications increased by 16 percent, and the number of graduate students also increased by 7 percent under Peavy’s management.

Peavy’s additional accomplishments include centralizing the eight admission offices at The New School; creating University wide recruitment events at the undergraduate and graduate level; and implementing a joint recruitment model across three graduate schools to maximize enrollment. Peavy’s professional background also includes strategic analysis of over $180 million in financial aid and scholarships, as well as advancement of publications, online media and advertising to support the enrollment goals of the University.

Prior to his work as the assistant vice president for admission, Peavy was the director of admission for The New School for Liberal Arts, Eugene Lang College, from 2000 to 2004.  He gained work experience in the field of Jesuit education when he began his admission career as a counselor at Fordham University, rising to the rank of associate director of admission before his departure.

Peavy holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration and Supervision from Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from York College of Pennsylvania. He volunteers his time as president of the York College New York Metro Alumni Chapter, and mentors children and families through the Charter Oak Challenge Foundation in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
