Jersey City, N.J. – Saint Peter’s College today announced its support for the 3rd annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Jersey City. A worldwide event, GEW 2010 is scheduled for the week of November 15-21, when millions of people will celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity.
“We are proud to be a sponsor of Global Entrepreneurship Week and are committed to supporting the business dreams of current and future entrepreneurs,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s College. “We encourage everyone to buy local and help support our neighboring businesses.”
Thousands of events in more than 100 countries are scheduled to take place during the third annual event. Governmental agencies, higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, small businesses, students and others will come together to participate in a variety of activities including workshops, roundtables and networking events.
On Tuesday, November 16, Saint Peter’s will host an information session for M.B.A. students at 6 p.m. at Lee House, which is located on the Jersey City campus at 2627 Kennedy Boulevard. The M.B.A. program features concentrations in finance, human resource management, health care administration, international business, management, MIS, marketing and risk management. In addition, a Master of Science in accountancy is offered. The session will provide an opportunity to meet graduate program staff and learn how the College can assist individuals in meeting professional goals. To register, please visit www.spc.edu/rsvp.
Co-founded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the world’s largest foundation dedicated to entrepreneurship, and Enterprise UK, a business-led, government-backed campaign in the United Kingdom, GEW helps develop young people’s knowledge, skills and networks to inspire them to grow sustainable enterprises. The net outcome is a positive impact on participants’ lives, families and communities.
It is estimated that more than 10 million people in 102 countries will participate in GEW this year. In 2009, more than 7.5 million people took part in an estimated 32,000 events across 88 countries.
