Jersey City, N.J. – Saint Peter’s College today announced it is now offering five-year combined degree programs for B.S./M.S. degrees in Accountancy and B.A./M.A. degrees in Criminal Justice. Through these programs students are able to earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree within a five year period, ultimately saving students time and money while facilitating a seamless transition into the master’s degree program.
“We are dedicated to our students’ success here at Saint Peter’s College and the implementation of these five-year combined degree programs is an extension of that commitment,” said Marylou Yam, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs at Saint Peter’s College. “With the growing challenge of securing that first job out of college, these programs will significantly increase our students’ marketability when they enter the workforce.”
The introduction of five-year degree programs at Saint Peter’s College will not only promote the attainment of advanced degrees among the students, but will also promote enrollment growth and aid in keeping the College competitive with other institutions currently offering similar programs. Students who complete the program may be able to secure higher-level positions with greater earning potential as a result of their advanced degree.
Students are eligible to apply for these programs in their junior year after completing the necessary course requirements. Upon acceptance, students can take two graduate courses in their senior year followed by two graduate courses in the summer between years four and five. In their fifth year, students will take all graduate level courses with the possibility of taking summer courses during their fifth year depending on the number of credits necessary to complete the degree.
Applications for the five-year programs will be accepted beginning today. For more information about enrollment and program guidelines, please contact Stephanie Autenrieth, director of graduate admissions at sautenrieth@spc.edu or (201) 761-6474.
