Jersey City, N.J. – November 19, 2019 – Saint Peter’s University today announced that it has been ranked as one of the top ten colleges and universities in New Jersey, according to the 2020 College Ranking : Best College & Universities, which were recently released by the personal finance website WalletHub.
WalletHub compared more than 1,000 higher education institutions across the country based on 33 key measures in seven categories, which include: career outcomes, cost, financing, student selectivity, faculty resources, campus experience and educational outcomes. The site considered data such as the student-faculty ratio, graduation rates and post-attendance median salary.
“Many of the categories that WalletHub considered in its rankings are areas of strength for Saint Peter’s,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s University. “Pathways to Distinction: The Strategic Plan for Saint Peter’s University 2015-2020 established goals for the University to improve in areas of retention as well as student experience and success. We take great pride in the fact that we are attaining these goals and being recognized in the rankings as a result.”
Saint Peter’s is committed to ensuring that its students graduate on time with marketable skills and low student debt. As a result of these efforts, approximately, 98 percent of Saint Peter’s students receive financial aid and the average first-year retention rate is 82 percent, which is higher than the national average of 74 percent. Additionally, 94 percent of graduates from the Class of 2018 were employed or enrolled in post-graduate programs within six months of graduation.
